Good evening! I am Maureen and Prakash’s Uncle, Rev. Dr. Oscar Bistonath, and proud husband to Elizabeth Emily.
Together with our four Children and their respective families, we convey our heartfelt love and sympathy to Maureen, her boys and families, the Sohans, and all our extended relatives and friends.
During this difficult time of immense sorrow, shock, and pain following the sudden passing of our beloved Prakash Sohan, there is a silver lining at the end of the tunnel.
Approximately 20 years ago, my sister, Ellen, had graciously asked Elizabeth and me, her brother, Rev. Denis Bagot, and his wife, Vicki, to conduct a religious prayer meeting at her New York apartment in Greenpoint.
To emphasize a sweet story, keep it short and divulge the gist of what happened suddenly.
Amid our fervent prayer, calling on God’s Holy Spirit to anoint everyone, we sensed a glorious opportunity to extend God’s invitation to those who wanted to accept Jesus as their personal Savior to go to Heaven.
My sister Ellen, who was five siblings my senior, Maureen, her daughter, and Prakash responded to the Holy Spirit’s calling to raise their hands publicly and declared that they wanted to accept Jesus as Savior. Through simple prayers, they were lovingly led to accept Jesus’ saving grace and be born again as Christians.
Through Prakash’s public declaration of faith, it was sincere. We can safely say that Prakash is in good company in heaven. At his passing, he was first greeted by Jesus. He subsequently met his Mom, mother-in-law Ellen, Indra, Randolph, my dear brother Weeks, and a host of other saved relatives.
A good observation: When anyone speaks the truth by the Word of God, the devil will be visibly furiously offended.
This opportunity easily clarifies the mass confusion about who is entitled to go to heaven. According to the Holy Scriptures and what Jesus said, all candidates must be born again (or born twice) to qualify.
The good news is that all people on Earth have already been born once and experienced their first birth from their mother.
Now, we will allow Jesus, the Master Teacher, to speak through the Holy Scriptures, as recorded in John 3:3-10, to carefully explain the concept of the second birth.
It was recorded: 1. There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
2. This man came to Jesus by night (as he was afraid to be seen) and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do, unless God is with him.”
3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born [a]again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh (as in the first birth), and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit (as in the second birth)
7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’
8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
9 Nicodemus answered and said to Him, “How can these things be?”
10 Jesus answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Israel and do not know these things?
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
This is a paramount statement of why people lovingly accept their crucial second birth, called a born-again experience. The purpose is to wash away their sins to gain admittance before the sinless sanctuary of God in heaven.
Forever, in the eyes of the Lord and society, the most significant legacy anyone can leave this world and heaven is the immaculate history of the number of people they have instrumentally helped to go to heaven.
Today, I submit that this is the third funeral I have been asked to speak at in the last month.
When I finally finished speaking/preaching at the New York funeral, eight people greeted me. They appreciated my explanation about Heaven and what it takes to get there.
The greatest of these came from a humble Muslim woman, perhaps in her thirties, who was a professional Indian singer. She wrote and asked if I would kindly oblige by sending her a copy of my speech so that she could study and understand how to accept Jesus and go to heaven.
The beauty and essential point of this miraculous incident is that many people are eager to go to heaven and gladly welcome teachings from the Word of God.
Tonight, I will facilitate some glimpses of Heaven, paramountly indicated in my International Award-Winning Book “Your Total Disarming” Book One Chapter 10 titled “God’s Riches available in Christ.”
These are only a few subheadings discussing our life and dispositions there:
In heaven, we will not be given in marriages; we will be like angels, so Christians can practice acting like them.
Jesus has already prepared a home for us in heaven. We don’t have to build one.
Heaven will be a place of absolute rest, joy, and enormous happiness.
We can eat in heaven and live on God’s riches. Don’t worry! Jesus, in His resurrected body, ate broiled fish among the disciples.
Fortunately, our thoughts will not be those of the past, worrying about the people we left behind.
Our clothing shall have a holy glow of God’s righteousness.
Our age and the language we will speak will be yours to discover in heaven.
In heaven, there will be no sick, handicapped, or old people; everyone will be perfect.
Praise God, there will be no devil or sin. Therefore, no gossiping!
There will be no death, as we will share eternity forever and ever with Jesus.
Jesus will be our surety, moral compass, genuine hope, Savior, and true God. There, believers will be joint heirs of heaven with Christ as sons and daughters of God.
Born-again believers will receive new identities in Christ:
Those who serve the Lord faithfully will receive rewards of up to five crowns listed below.
A Winner’s Crown.
The Crown of Righteousness.
The Crown of Rejoicing.
The Crown of Life.
The Crown of Glory.
In conclusion, summarizing!
As a Pastor, I don’t tell feel-good stories but speak the Word of God, where the rubber hits the road.
Physically dying is part of physically and spiritually living again for those who make it to Heaven.
Death is unmistakably the final frontier, eagerly waiting for those of us now living.
We are all on the same typical journey home, whether a condition is named or not.
Sometimes, our lives are rapidly expedited by circumstances and illnesses, as in Prakash’s case.
Jesus owns Heaven.
Jesus is the only name that opens the door to heaven for our entry.
Jesus came once as Baby Jesus to be our glorious Savior.
He will come once more to rapture his church and take Christians with Him
before his second and final return to destroy Satan and Evil.
The Rapture can happen unexpectedly anytime, even as I speak, and the devil and procrastination can steal your chance of a happy, triumphant life in heaven.
There is no other name upon heaven and earth that a person can be saved by other than the beautiful name of Jesus.
No one should have to die without first knowing Jesus, to have confident assurance in going to Heaven.
If you have Jesus, you have everything!
If you have everything else without Jesus, you still have nothing!
It is crucial that when death comes knocking down your front door, you should be ready to cross over the finish line with dignity as a righteous, holy saint, able to spend eternity with God in a spectacular place called Heaven.
To cast ultimate meaning and richness to our lives, we should endeavor to live today as if it were the last day of our lives.
God already proved His unfailing love and magnificent part: Jesus paid with His Blood to buy you out of the slavery of sin. What are you significantly willing to give up for Jesus?
The Bible proudly says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Tonight, are you profoundly ready to pledge your life to God, who will forgive all your past, present, and future sins and offer you a new, clean slate to start over your life?
If willing, please activate these three simple miracle words:
Sorry, Accept and Invite
In the quietness of your heart, tell God you are Sorry for all your past sins.
Accept that Jesus died on the Cross for you.
And finally, Invite God’s Holy Spirit to live in you permanently.
If you genuinely do those three things, you would be considered born again, have eternal life, and be ready to go to Heaven. Tell me about it.
If anyone has further questions about accepting Jesus, please feel free to ask me afterwards.
Blessings and best wishes to everyone. May Godspeed be with you. Thank You.
We welcome your questions and reflections about Your Total Disarming books and ministry.
